Alibi
Work out which room each suspect was in and which hour they were there.
- Read a clue and tap the squares it settles. Tap once for a tick, again for a cross.A tick says these two go together, a cross says they do not. Nothing is checked while you play, so a wrong cross costs you nothing until you finish.
- Cross out everything a tick rules out, then look for a row or a column with one square left. That last square is forced, and every clue in the list is needed at least once. If you have not used one yet, it is holding the answer you are stuck on.
- Put a tick in every row of all three grids to finish. The crosses are your working and are never scored. Only the fifteen ticks count, and the clock is your score.
Scored on time.
What the words mean
- Suspect:
- one of the five shapes down the side of the first two grids. The Circle, the Square, and so on
- Room:
- one of five numbered rooms along a corridor. Room 2 and Room 3 touch, Room 2 and Room 4 do not
- Hour:
- one of five times, drawn as clock faces and running left to right
- Grid:
- one of the three tables. Who was in which room, who was there at which hour, and which room was busy at which hour
- Tick:
- these two go together. One per row and one per column, never two
- Cross:
- these two do not go together. Your working, and never scored
- Link:
- one settled pair, marked with a tick. There are fifteen of them to find, five on each grid
- Par:
- a good time for today's clues, not a great one. Beating it puts you well up the table
