Your record
Kept in this browser, and against the random identifier in your guest cookie so it can move onto an account if you ever make one. There is no name on it and nothing in it that says who you are. Clearing your browser clears the copy here and cuts the link to the rest.
Keep your streak
Without an account your streak lives in this browser, so clearing your browsing data ends it, and some browsers do that for you. An account keeps it instead, on whatever you sign in on, brings across whatever this browser has already played, and puts your name on the boards if you want it there. It stays optional and everything here works without one.
