Hearsay

Fill all twenty-five squares so that every one of them agrees with its own claim. There is only ever one way to do it, and you never have to guess.

0 of 25 marked

≥2 T on row 1, column 1: at least 2 of the squares touching me are true.

Tap a square for TRUE, again for FALSE, again to clear it. A square is TRUE when what it says is right.

Stopping early still scores, on the squares you had right.

Today’s board

Time, best first · points

Nobody has solved this one today. Make an account and your name goes up here when you do. This board ranks solved runs, because it ranks them on the clock and a part-solved grid cannot be compared with a finished one. Every go earns points on the leaderboards either way.

This week, this month and all time

Hearsay

Fill all twenty-five squares so that every one of them agrees with its own claim. There is only ever one way to do it, and you never have to guess.

  1. Read what a square says. It is always about the squares touching it, never about itself.“≥1 T” means at least one of my neighbours is true. “← F” means the square to my left is false. Touching means up, down, left and right, so a corner does not count.
  2. Tap a square for TRUE, again for FALSE, again to clear it.Mark it TRUE if what it says is right and FALSE if what it says is wrong. A square saying something wrong is not a mistake in the puzzle. It is a false square, and the grid needs it.
  3. Start at an edge, where the counting is easiest.A corner touches only two squares, so “=3 T” there cannot possibly be right and that square is FALSE before you know anything else. Work outwards from whatever that settles.

Scored on time.

What the words mean
Touching:
the squares directly above, below, left and right. Corners do not touch
T and F:
true and false. A square is marked TRUE when what it says is right
ALL T:
every square touching me is true. ALL F is the same the other way round
≥2 T:
at least two of the squares touching me are true
≤1 T:
at most one of the squares touching me is true
=2 F:
exactly two of the squares touching me are false. Not one, not three
↑ F:
the square directly above me is false. The other arrows point down, left and right
