Total:
the number beside a row or under a column. The four digits in that line have to add up to it
Given:
a digit that came printed on the grid. You cannot change it, and you never need to
Line:
one row or one column. There are eight of them, and each has a total of its own
To go:
the total minus what you have written in that line so far. Nought with the line full means it is settled
Par:
a good time for today's grid, not a great one. Beating it puts you well up the table
