Ten Up

Get as many of the ten down as you can. The skill is not guessing what comes next, it is leaving room for it.

Any slot will take it. Where you leave room is the whole game.

Ten Up

Get as many of the ten down as you can. The skill is not guessing what comes next, it is leaving room for it.

  1. Put the number on the table into one of the open slots.Only slots that keep the row reading low to high are open. The others are shut, so you cannot place one wrongly by accident.
  2. Leave gaps on purpose.A 500 can go in slot 1 and it almost never should. Put it near the middle and you keep room below for the small ones and above for the big ones.
  3. Expect the run to end before the ten are down. This is the bit worth knowing before you start. Somebody who could see all ten could always place them, but nobody can, and even played as well as it can be played all ten go down about one run in fifty. Seven is a decent run and eight is a good one. You are playing for how far you get, not for a clean sweep.

Scored on placed.

What the words mean
A slot:
one of the 10 places in the row, numbered left to right. Each one takes a single number and you cannot move it afterwards
Open:
a slot the number on the table could legally go in, meaning everything to its left is smaller and everything to its right is bigger. Shut slots are shown but cannot be tapped
Stuck:
a number arrives and no slot is open for it. That ends the run, and your score is what you had already placed
Forced:
a number that had exactly one open slot. There was no decision to make, so it says nothing about how well you played
