What the words mean
- In the right place:
- an event you put exactly where it belonged. That count is your whole score, and you can check it against the column on the screen, which is the point of scoring it that way
- Par:
- the best anybody could do, which here is all six in the right place. Every set has a perfect answer and somebody who knows the six dates will find it
- Earliest and latest:
- the two ends of the column. Earliest is at the top and latest at the bottom, and both ends are labelled so nobody has to guess which way it runs
- The set:
- the six events dealt for the day. They come from at least four different parts of the world and at least three different walks of life, so it is never six of the same thing
