Tap a square once to cross it out, and again for a tick.
Finishing early still scores, on the links you pinned correctly.

Work out which room each of the five people was in, and what time they were there.
- Pick a clue that names a person and a room, then find that person's row and that room's column in the first table and tap the square where they meet. One tap puts a cross there, meaning those two do not go together. Tap again for a tick, meaning they do. A third tap clears it.
- Every time you put a tick down, cross out the rest of that row and the rest of that column.Nobody was in two rooms and no room held two people, so one tick rules out eight other squares. Do that and a row soon has one square left, and that square is forced.
- Work through the clues until every row of all three tables has a tick, then press the finish button.Nothing is checked while you play, so a wrong cross costs you nothing. Only the fifteen ticks are scored, and your time is your score.
Scored on time.
What the words mean
- Suspect:
- one of the five people down the side of the tables. Ada, Bram, Cleo, Dev and Esme
- Room:
- one of five rooms, running Kitchen, Study, Cellar, Attic, Garden. Next door means side by side in that run, so the Kitchen and the Study are next door and the Kitchen and the Cellar are not
- Time:
- one of five times on the same evening, 7pm through to 11pm
- Clue:
- one numbered sentence above the tables. Every one of them is needed, and tapping a clue greys it out once you have finished with it
- Grid:
- one of the three tables. Who was in which room, who was there at which time, and which room was in use at which time
- Tick:
- these two go together. One per row and one per column, never two
- Cross:
- these two do not go together. Your working, and never scored
- Link:
- one settled pair, marked with a tick. There are fifteen of them to find, five on each grid
- Par:
- a good time for today's clues, not a great one. Beating it puts you well up the table
