Quickset
Finish the grid, as quickly as you can.
- Tap a square and type. Tap it again to swap between its across clue and its down one.The clue for whichever entry you are in sits above the grid, so you are never hunting through a list for it.
- Work from the crossings.Nine squares belong to two entries. One letter you are sure of halves the work on the other clue, and that is the whole method of a crossword.
- Change your mind as often as you like.Typing over a square replaces what was there, and nothing is scored until you finish or stop. A wrong letter costs only the time it takes to notice.
Scored on time.
What the words mean
- Across:
- the three words that read left to right, numbered 1, 4 and 5
- Down:
- the three words that read top to bottom, numbered 1, 2 and 3
- Crossing:
- a square shared by an across entry and a down one. There are nine, and they are where a crossword is actually solved
- Blacked out:
- the four squares nothing is written in. They are the shape of the grid rather than a puzzle
