Sweep

Open every square that is not a mine, as quickly as you can.

  1. Tap a covered square to open it.The number on it counts the mines in the eight squares around it. A blank one touches none.
  2. Put a flag on any square you have worked out is a mine.A flag is a note to yourself. It costs nothing, scores nothing, and stops you opening that square by accident.
  3. Carry on playing if you do open a mine.It does not end your round. It costs you 20 seconds, the square stays revealed, and the board can still be finished.

Scored on time.

What the words mean

to open every square that is not a mine. That is the whole win condition
Mine:
a hidden square that costs you twenty seconds if you open it. Twelve of them
Touching number:
the digit on an open square, counting the mines in the eight squares around it. A blank square touches none
Flag:
a marker you put on a square you think is a mine, so you do not open it by accident. Just a note to yourself: it costs nothing and scores nothing
Detonation:
opening a mine. Twenty seconds on your time and the square is revealed. You are not out, and the round carries on
No-guess:
